FoLK iN The PaRK is a festival, a monthly gathering of musicians, friends, kids, lovers, and whoever wants to come. Music will be played, friendships will be hatched, squirrels will run amok and pee in the bushes, and god willing something special will continue to grow. The first Folk in The Park happened in Los Angeles, on June 4th, 2006 at the beautiful Griffith Park. It turned out to be one of the most amazing musical shows I've ever been to. The creators are more happy than you can possibly imagine. The ultimate goal is to have a gathering at least once a month. The creators of Folk in the Park highly encourage individuals to start their own gatherings in their own neighborhoods and cities. Stay tuned for a "Starter Kit" you can download that will teach you how to start a Folk In The Park in your own city. The only guidelines is that you must play 100% acousticly (percussion and drums OK), this is largely due to park rules. Any style of music is welcome as we want to always be a completely freeform venue promoting freedom, creativity, and expression of the human spirit in all it's glories and blunders.
